Wine by: Matt "The English Wine Maker" Gregory
Matt Gregory travelled the world as The English Winemaker. If you think your commute is long, try going to Milan twice a week, or sitting in a plane for 30 hours to go and check vineyards. He studied viticulture as part of his University degree and has sold wine since he was legally old enough. He has worked with family vineyards in Italy, famous name Champagne houses right through to Chilean boutique wineries.
Now managing Walton Brook vineyard less than 10 miles from Wolds Wine Estate. We are pleased to have some of Matt’s finest, low-intervention wines in stock and very pleased with how delish they are!
Wine by: Rothley Wine Estate
Rothley Wine Estate lies on a gentle south facing slope on the bank of the Rothley Brook, a tributary of the River Soar. Vines were planted gradually over a few years and there are currently about 1100 vines of differing varieties and ages. Still wine is made on site in Rothley, and sparkling at Halfpenny Green Vineyard near Wolverhampton.
The Vintner, Liz, has won numerous awards for her wines and is passionate about viticulture and her local area history.
