Description
Join us for a tour of the Estate. We will guide you around the Estate and provide an informal tasting of our wines, locally produced wines and our award winning craft cider. We will explore the cider orchard and vineyard whilst enjoying stops along the way to taste wine and learn about viticulture and life on the Estate.
The tours and tastings will be held on Saturdays starting at 11am and 2pm and last roughly 1.5 to 2 hours depending on group interaction. They will include:
- A tour of the Orchard discussing the importance of traditional orchards and cider
- An up-close view of the vineyard with details of English viticulture
- A tasting during and after which will include tasters of 5 wines (ours and locally made) and our Estate cider
- After the tour you are free to explore and take photos on your own
- Wines and cider can be purchased after the tour on the day
Food/Picnics – If you are joining our 11am tour you can bring a picnic with you to enjoy in the vineyard after the tour until we have our own café/restaurant open (we will update this page and our socials when we have an expected opening date with at least 4 weeks notice). You can’t bring your own alcohol so must buy wine/cider directly from us. As the afternoon tour will take place in the main building, all picnics must be eaten outside at the picnic tables overlooking the vineyard. We will not have any fridge space to store your picnics during the tour.
Want to stay at the vineyard? Book one of our glamping pods for a relaxed and fun weekend away.
Want to buy the tour as a gift? Buy our Tour Gift Cards.
Want a Private Tour? We also do private and corporate vineyard tours and tastings.

Public Transport
Taxis: We would highly recommend booking a taxi for both journeys to/from Wolds Wine Estate in advance of your visit. Use your favourite taxi firm, or an Uber is usually 5-20 minutes away from us. If booking a taxi please do leave some time for the tour to overrun in case of any late starts or for you to finish your wines.
Bus: We are well served by The Keyworth by Trent Barton bus which goes through Nottingham City, West Bridgford, Tollerton, Plumtree and Keyworth. From the bus stop we are a 13 minute walk.
Bus On Demand: You can also get the NottsBus on Demand from within Rushcliffe to drop you off at our door. More info at NottsBus website.
Train: The two main stations close-by are Nottingham and Loughborough. Both are about 20-25 minutes drive from the Estate. Nottingham Station in better connected with public buses (The Keyworth by Trent Barton bus).
Parking
You can park for free at the vineyard. Please follow signs on the day. We are happy for you to leave your car overnight but please let us know on the day if you are doing this.
Clothing & Footware
We are a working vineyard with uneven ground and are open to the elements so sensible shoes and clothing is advised.
Bad Weather
We aim to carry out the tours in all weather and ensure that tours remain fun. If rain is forecast please dress appropriate as we will be out in the elements for the tour. For the tasting we will either be under a gazebo overlooking the vineyard if it is light rain or in a rustic barn if it is heavy rain. We will only cancel the tour in extreme weather conditions and we will either rearrange or refund you ticket.
Late Arrival
We aim to start tours on-time to ensure people make taxis/buses/trains. If you arrive late the tour may have started. If the group is not in the tasting area then please make your way through to the vineyard (behind the main building) and see where the tour is. The tour party should be easily visible.
Accessibility
Unfortunately due to the uneven ground surface the tour is unsuitable for buggies or wheelchairs. We do hope to improve this longer term.
The tour takes a route through the fields and vineyard. Whilst there are stops on route the talks will be conducted whilst standing. We will provide some seating at the tour stops for guests who require to sit down.
Children
Due to the nature of the event where alcohol is consumed, we do not allow children under 18 to attend. So leave the kids at home and have a fantastic day out.
Dogs
Unfortunately we do not allow dogs on the tours.
Cancellations
If you do not arrive for your scheduled tour, then the tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded. If you let us know within 14 days that you are unable to attend we may be able to schedule onto a different date. If we cancel your booking in its entirety, you will be entitled to a full refund for the purchase price. Tickets will be exchanged or refunded at the price paid for them, but no further compensation will be paid.
