Description: Pale lime colour. Aroma of pineapple & pear tingled with elderflower. Flavour of ripe grapefruit, white currant and gooseberry. Hint of ginger on the mineral aftertaste.

Story: Premium grapes handpicked from Rothley Wine Estate’s Leicestershire vineyard. Did Richard III pass this way? A symbol for the House of York was the Sun in Splendour – which you see on the label.

Judges’ comments 

Grass nose, well balanced on the palate with hints of orchard fruits, gooseberry and citrus notes. Mineral tones.   

Analytical data: pH 2.91, Total acidity 7.7 g/L; Reducing sugar 1.2g/L; free sulphur 32mg/L

Serving Suggestions: Ideal with tofu, fish, poultry, potato dishes, salads, soft cheeses or to drink on its own.

Serving Temperature: 8ºC

Best decanted and swirled to release the fruit aromas.
