Wolds Wine Estate announces that it has launched public Vineyard Tours and Tastings for the upcoming Spring and Summer seasons. Tour groups will be guided through the vineyard to learn about English viticulture and visit the cider orchard and bee hives. The process of wine and cider making will also be discussed with guests making a visit to the cider barn. During the tour, guests will get to sample the Estate craft cider and locally made wines.
The tours aim to be informal, informative and fun with a mixture of stories and personal experiences. The tastings will be guided but relaxed with no hint of wine snobbery. As Wolds Wine Estate’s first wine will not be ready until 2024 the tastings will be conducted with wine made from local vineyards and showcase the potential of the East Midlands as a wine producing region. The tasting will also include Wolds Wine Estate cider made from 100% local apples and pears naturally fermented at the vineyard.
At the end of the tour guests will have the option to purchase wine and enjoy a luxury picnic hamper amongst the vines. This provides a great opportunity for the visitors to explore the vineyard further on their own, take photos and appreciate the tranquillity of the vineyard. A wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
Estate owner and founder Rob Kalisiak says: “Our public tours and tastings are the next step in realising our vision to create a leading English vineyard destination. We are thrilled to be able to showcase some fabulous and award winning East Midlands wines for our visitors to try. English wine making is going from strength to strength and our hope is that we can educate, inform and wow our visitors with what we do to create a great wine. I’m also very excited to be launching our Wolds Wine Estate craft cider at the tastings which is currently maturing in tanks and tasting delicious.”
The Public Vineyard Tours and Tastings will run on Saturdays at 11 o’clock throughout the Spring and Summer. The tours are currently set at £22 a head which includes a tasting of five wines and one craft cider. Wolds Wine Estate is well served by public transport from Nottingham City Centre, West Bridgford, Tollerton and Plumtree (The Keyworth by Trent Barton) and just a 5-15 minute taxi ride from Keyworth, Ruddington, Tollerton and West Bridgford. Free parking is available on-site for those who wish to drive.
